Summer Reading Assignment

Hampton Middle School Summer Reading Assignment 2025

Due Date: Tuesday, September 2, 2025

One of our goals at HMS is to continually encourage lifelong learning through reading. Summer is a great time to explore new books or read those that you never had time for during the busy school year. During the summer of 2025, we are highly recommending that all students participate in the summer reading assignment. You are encouraged to select books and genres that most interest you. You may choose to access books through SORA, your local public library, bookstores, or your personal collection. A suggested list of books are also provided as an option; however it is not mandatory to follow the list.

After reading your selected book, you will choose one of the following tasks to complete and turn in to your 2025-2026 Language Arts teacher on or before Tuesday, September 2nd. This assignment will count as an assessment grade for the first 9 weeks. Students who submit the reading assignment byAugust 7th will be honored on our 2025 - 2026 Hornet Wall of Fame.

During summer break, if you have any questions regarding the assignment contact Mrs. Gaynor, Instructional Coach at latrica.gaynor@henry.k12.ga.us.
